I could pay £74 and stay at the Travelodge near Hounslow Central for £74, or double that for the Bath Road Holiday Inn.
3 tubes stops to T3 or a bus ride to Heathrow Central bus station.

It's only £147 for a room at the IC in San Francisco that night, so a whole £ cheaper than the HI

At the end of the day, it you're doing a short overnight stay and just want a bed and a hot shower, does it matter if The Thistle isn't the height of luxury?
It's well positioned, and if the price is right, it will suffice. Not sure though it the PI across the road works out as the better option - last room I had there had a full sized fridge etc., something very useful if you're there for a few hours and want to keep beers etc. cold.

People keep staying at say The Britannia near MAN, and that's quite renowned as a complete sh^&^&^le full of hookers
