If you fly carriers like JetBlue at JFK out of Terminal 5 (just as one example), the Centurion Lounge in T4 is virtually useless since it's such a hassle to access. Excellent point. These questions can't be answered in the abstract. You need to know the traveler's most common airports, airlines and terminals.
That said, Amex Plat has extraordinarily broad lounge coverage. Only knock is no restaurant benefit, but I have the Chase Sapphire Reserve PP card for that.
