Rules.

Maybe KrisFlyer have a rule not to call back with booking details after committing to doing so. Not once but multiple times. Maybe their rule book says tell the caller who has a six month infant that they will need another 25000 points for a trip regardless of whether they occupy a seat. (Since clarified as incorrect) Just maybe their little rule book says put a member requesting redemption on a waitlisted flight and ask them to ring back two weeks before departure. Luckily a member would call back the next day and be told he wasn't allowed to be waitlisted. Maybe just maybe they have a rule to check only one partner airline for availability on a chosen day and route and tell a member they can't get to their chosen destination but can get back. Maybe the member would accept this and purchase his own outgoing ticket only to be told later that
1. Although the required return leg flight was booked it was invalid because they could only book return flights not one way.
2. Months later that a partner airline actually had seats on both legs on requested days but they had NEVER been checked for availability.

Maybe this story goes on and on and it does with many more examples of incompetence that I would never have expected from a fine company like SQ.

I had never written a complaint letter in my life until this experience but have now done so. Closing comment would be if SQ ran their planes like their FFP they would never get off the ground.
