Choice Hotels status and 400,000 Choice Hotel points complements of the disintegration of Radisson USA. 5 night visit to Sweden. Two point nights at Avalon Hotel in Gothenburg, Sweden. Three point nights at At Six, Ascend Hotel Collection, Stockholm, Sweden. 20,000 points per night. Ideal location for both hotels. Rate at both locations included breakfast. Gold status w/ Choice via Radisson status via credit card. Both hotels upgraded the room to a superior room .

Avalon - Interesting hotel in interesting location. The bus from the airport stops directly across from the hotel. Initially concerned with noise as the immediate area is quite active during the day. For whatever reason the immediate area shuts down around 9PM. The immediate area and the hotel is quite. The "market" across the street is an excellent option for food and drink and entertainment. Breakfast is wonderful and is setup and ready at 6:30AM. Central Station is a 10 minute walk or 5 minute tram ride.

At Six - Less character, more luxury; but same number of points. Initial room was on the 13th floor with a view of the roottop bar in the adjoining building. The noise from the bar wasn't immediately problematic but moved rooms after a few hours to the 6th floor. The staff were very accommodating. The second room is at the end of a long walkway with a view of the adjoining shopping mall. The hotel isn't easy to find as the hotel is part and parcel of the adjoining shopping mall. The hotel is a "luxury" hotel but some maintenance issue do exist. The room does have two light switches but the switches turn the same set of lights on / off. Half of the lights and half of the outlets do not work. The "mini bar" doesn't do anything other than make noise so I unplugged the mini bar. TV works great. The environment is as dark and as quiet as could be imagined.

Or in other words, Choice points in Sweden are a very good option. 20,000 points for $200 - $300 per night rooms. Status of any level results in an upgrade. No indication the other Choice hotels in the immediate area are lesser hotels. Choice points in the USA are a waste of points as the hotel are not nice hotels by any measure.
