Is there any reason, any at all, that I should consider keeping the Preferred though?
What other cards do you have and how interested/invested are you in the UR eco system?

I was in a similar situation several years ago and decided that the CSP at that time didn’t offer anything that justified the annual fee. I basically put no charges on it. I downgraded it to a CFU, which became my new best friend for any charges that didn’t earn more than 1.5X UR on other cards. So basically, my minimum I would ever earn on a dollar (*) of spend became 1.5 UR, which beat all my other cards.

What UR-earning promos are you thinking of? My Chase Offers for the most part earn $ in cashback. MyBonus offers?

(*) The CFU unfortunately doesn’t have a foreign exchange fee waiver, so it never travels with me abroad. But most of my foreign spend is dining, hotels, car rentals and air fare, which does earn category bonuses on various other cards.
