Yes, that's what we figured as well; it was just odd because there definitely was a bulkhead (or, well, the wall panel with the windscreen on it) on this plane, so it really didn't look, feel, or function like an exit row to me. It didn't ever occur to me that this could even be an issue.

We opted for the latter; although when we (politely) protested that we had flown in 1A-C with the infant on Iberia just days ago, the FA seemed horrified that that had been allowed to happen, and assured us that she would write feedback to HQ about our

, because according to her, under no circumstances whatsoever are children ever allowed on row 1.
Otherwise a lovely flight, crew, and meal - I had just hoped not to have to sleep with knee pain tonight!
