I was arrested in 1977 (I think) for a misdemeanor which (I think) was public drunkenness. The charges were dropped by the arresting officer. I got the dreaded were you ever arrested on my Global Entry renewal last year and so I answered truthfully, though I doubt that there would be a way for anyone to figure this one out. This is my second renewal. I have an interview scheduled in September for the conditional renewal. I'm wondering if I should go through trying to get almost 50 year old records. I have no idea of the date. I think it was late August to maybe October of that year. I'm not even sure of the year. I don't even know if there is even a record of my arrest. Sheeh, I'll be 77 when I go for the interview. My interview is in Detroit if that makes any difference. And I know that interviewers vary in their lenience or lack thereof. Advice would be appreciated as to whether I should try to get the records before the interview and the approach to the question about the arrest. I am sure that on prior applications the question was whether I was convicted which I never have been.
