Always make sure you compare the price with and without using the shopping portal link. I typically find that the price increases if accessing booking.com via any kind of shopping portal link so you are effectively buying Avios.
similarly – booking via Expedia and the like means it’s almost impossible to add your hotel chain status and reap the benefits or earn those points either.
