no more priority bag for OneWorld-Sapphire?

Hy,

I were flying with my kids from Heathrow to Berlin in May in economy. Due to the kids we used the kids area for checking in our luggage.

I were a little bit confused - the check in agent denied my priority tag for the baggage. Never heard before so I wrote to BA and got the following answer. I thought its a "standard" benefit for OW-Member. Oneworld is benefiting for ruby as well - just a notice that is actually not available for British Airways operated flights.

There were no issues in Berlin flying to London.

"I'm sorry you were disappointed your bag wasn't labelled as 'priority'. For clarification, baggage is normally loaded on British Airways aircraft based on the cabin of travel, not the Executive Club status of the passenger. Although baggage belonging to customers travelling in premium cabins is tagged as 'priority', it is rather the regular tag (which contains the bar code) that controls where a bag will be loaded on the aircraft.

Business and first class bags are loaded on their own separate containers, regardless of a 'priority' tag. Similarly, a bag tagged as 'priority', but belonging to an economy class passenger, would be loaded on an economy class container. Please note, this is subject to change, as baggage can be moved from one container to another due to weight and balance or other operational reasons.

Normally, the first and business class containers are offloaded first from the aircraft on arrival. Having said this, please note most airports offload several (or all) containers at the same time, and the bags are unloaded from the containers and onto the carousel belt simultaneously. This means not all 'priority' bags will come out ahead of the 'non-priority' bags, but there won't be a delay for either type of bag, and everyone will get their belongings as soon as possible.

I hope this helps explain the background. Once again, I'm sorry you were disappointed."

Any one else had the same experiences?
