The fact NJTransit + ripoff monorail entrance/exit fee is lower than the bus is even more of a reason. Plus the 10 trip option brings the cost of NJTransit to/from EWR further down, and ever cheaper if PATH/#62 bus are brought into the equation.
The app is pretty easy to use, but those using it first time should get it all set up before, and not when the bus is arriving. Now, once you have your credit card info saved, then you can buy the bus ticket as the bus arrives, and activate before showing the ticket to the driver.
As far as I know, the NJT (rail) 10 trip option isn't actually a discount. It's just buying 10 tickets at a time. Not sure about the bus.
I'd love to take advantage of the 20-trip Flex Pass, but the monthly expiration really screws me over.
