they are legally allowed to ask her but cannot require her to. There is a difference. Asking her is perfectly legal, UA did nothing wrong asking her. If they said move or you are thrown out that's very different. This was a simple will you, which is legal
Threatening a diversion to Egypt is far more than a simple request to change seats.
