Crediting of Eurobonus miles after involuntary change to intinerary
Hi all,
I was recently travelling in the US on a SAS booked itinerary, which also included internal (domestic) flights in the US with United. For two legs of the itinerary (each consisting of two flights (LAX-SFO-SEA and SEA-IAD-BOS), my flights were significantly delayed and resultantly, United put me on another flight(s) to ensure that I would get to my destination that same day. While that was very nice of them, it ended with me flying with Alaska Airlines. Perhaps unsurprisingly, no points have ticked into my EB account for this modified itinerary. Since it was an involuntary change to my itinerary, it's my understanding that I should still receive points as per the original itinerary. However, having just reached out to SAS Gold Customer Care, they informed me that this is not the case if flying with a *A partner airline, where this situation arises. I find this a little hard to believe i.e., how can significant delays on the part of the airline result in me not being able to earn any points???
Is there anyone that can provide any advice as to how I can argue with SAS (and/or United) to secure that the relevant points are credited to my account, based on the original itinerary?
Thanks in advance!
