The front (entry) of the hotel faces ENE. The pool is on the back side, so WSW. Most people use the Disney View for fireworks. Directions and distances below.

From the hotel:

Magic Kingdom: NW, 5.25 miles. Too far, and no rooms face this way.
Hollywood Studios: Due west, 1.5 miles. Best opportunity for fireworks views.
Epcot: NW 1.3 miles. Close, but very few rooms face this way.
Animal Kingdom: Due west, 3.4 miles. But, AK doesn't do fireworks.

To me, I think "Disney View" and "Pool View" are the same side of the building, but Disney View floors are higher due to the surrounding treed area.

The pool has a loud DJ in the afternoons, so that may be something to keep in mind if the 2-year-old still takes naps.

The Disney/Pool view rooms also get full sun from 1PM til sunset. It's pretty, but it's hot. Very, very hot. We had a "park view" room at the WA last time and, despite a nice close up view of the arrival parking area, it was very comfortable to sit outside in the afternoon due to it being full shade.

We, personally, don't put much value on the views. We don't go to Disney to sit in the room and look out the windows. Just my $0.02.
