Standard Double - got Standard King Club Floor - came with bath robe and slippers

How are the rooms?
Better than many UK Crowne Plazas. 29 SqM. Bathroom with separate shower. Usual UK CP issues - dirty (ish - this time) carpets, no face towels and tiny pillows.

How is the exec. lounge?
Nice layout with decent views over the railway station. But totally bizarre food offering during cocktails. UK CP usually offered limited Canapes (can be really good e.g. Liverpool , or very limited like Harrogate (Onion Bhajis and Feta with cocktail tomatos!). Newcastle effectively offered a no choice meal substitute with a pasta dish and a rice pudding desert. AND drinks were by a single staffed waitress/manager service - which with 40 club floor guests was just plain crazy. Cocktails started at 17.30 and we got served nigh on 17.45.

What was good and what was bad?

Decent location for station. Price and general ambience. Pleasant swimming pool.

But Club Lounge was just plain eccentric...

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?

Price on a Sunday night was great value for a leisure night. If in Newcastle would consider but suspect Hilton across river at Gateshead is a better option.
