I am taking this flight in W soon enough, I am hoping that my waitlisted upgrade from W to J goes through Otherwise, as indicated above and on JAL's website, us in Y and W are only left with 1 main meal service

At JFK for JL 003, I would probably eat really well at the Greenwich lounge (for any passenger qualified to enter, of course) and bring some kind of extra food should one get hungry rather quickly.
