No idea whether anything's changed as I haven't been back since I checked out of quarantine in 2020 but it's the most obvious explanation for the OP not getting breakfast for a points booking. Perhaps somebody could email them and ask. If the policy still stands then email is the easiest way of making a reservation with inclusions anyway.
