It really is not brave to do a B2B, and any foolhardiness would be those who allow time for lunch. The key aspect of risk that you take on is 2 separate aircraft, whereas a true B2B it is just one aircraft, and if something goes wrong with that one aircraft EC261 is on your side in a way that it is not with two aircraft.. So allowing time for lunch is a lot more risky than doing a B2B. For example you are on the morning flight, you get on board, there is an APU failure, then the doors won't close. Minutes turn into hours, you see on the next stand the next DUB aircraft about to depart LHR, and you can't get on it, you are stuck in LHR. Had that been a B2B aircraft, and you were on it, same circumstances, you would be protected. You are not protected on aircraft1. Adding a bit of time is adding risk. Adding a huge amount of time certainly mitigates it, but a few hours does not, and even the night before won't work if the GAA have something on that night. And if you don't believe me, then perhaps re-read post 1.
Sofia is one of the slightly more tricky locations, DUB is also not as easy as some places, which includes GOT.
