The economy meal service on JL3 looks pretty bad for a 14-hour flight (though I have to say JAL catering from USA is never good). A cold sandwich after take off followed by a full meal after 8-9 hours - this arrangement may be ok for west coast flight but for east coast flight, people will certainly get hungry. Unlike red eye from HND-LHR where economy passengers are fed in the lounge before departure, no such arrangement has been made for JL3.
