The front-line staff had no clue, so they pulled over a CBSA officer, who was very quickly able to tell me I had to do a US interview (which I was not told before, nor did the YWG office have any idea even after I called them about it).

The US interview was... an interview. Much more than the box-checking of the Canadian side, even applying as a Canadian.

However, I'm now approved.

So yeah... make sure you don't skip the US side of the interview
