I'd have assumed you did this intentionally, to try to misconnect and collect compensation, because the likelihood of you making this flight wasn't great in the first place unless absolutely everything went according to plan, and/or you were traveling without checked luggage and have Global Entry.
This never works out for me
The tight connections which I wouldn't mind missing end up working out safely 90% of the time, and works-with-a-jog-to-the-gate the other 10% of the time.
Statistically I think most people make their flights - otherwise we'd call it "regular operations"
