If you redeem for travel directly it can make a big difference. Most people on here use it for transfer partners, where you don't get the extra benefit. I personally use most of mine for cruises so it can make a big difference
probably still true but I suspect its trending more toward redeeming for travel via Chase these days. It is for me. Airline miles are increasily only worth $0.01 unless you are willing to fight for the rare sweet spots with partners. It's not worth the effort for me any more. Redeeming via chase at $0.015 for a cash ticket is preferable for me now.
