Thinking of flying to India from NYC and ideally want to buy economy and try to upgrade into J. Although Qatar/Etihad are offering competitive economy fares, I recall their J OLCI/bid prices being absurd ($1500+). Last winter I had a good experience with Saudia upgrading RUH-JFK for ~$750 and was curious if anyone has experiences with Kuwait's recently implemented upgrade system (mostly in terms of pricing - if it is reasonable or not). Even if I have bad chances of getting upgraded into Kuwait, the fact that they use A330neo gives them a competitive edge to me because I can be in a window seat and only have to hop over one person to get out (as opposed to 2 on QR/EY) .
