Bluestar, I should have added. If you do decide to ask for the wheelchair back at LHR, then at the original check in they might only tag the chair to LHR and not to your final destination. At least that's what they started to do in Aberdeen. Then you will need to remove the expired tag and have it retagged at the LHR gate. Same for the return.
