I don't see any reason why a traveler should expect that this is something he needs to be wary of in any way. I would love to see someone sue TK for the misery and cost they are undoubtedly causing a lot of people who are doing everything correctly.
Which will probably never happen. First a practical question - where to sue: Turkey? Country of commencement of travel? Schengen destination country? Then are we even sure if any court would even attempt to decide who is right here?
Exactly, you can't win a case like this. As I pointed out, try googling and see how many other airlines have the same issues.
