I’m currently, on the phone with AmexTravel trying to cancel so I can rebook with Hyatt direct.
The status quo is that if you book through an online travel agent (which doesn't include FHR/THC/Prive or other "real" travel agencies) then you will not get status recognition, points or night credits (EQN).
Anecdotally there are data points of those things coming through if the member # is added to the reservation, but there's no guarantee that it will and no recourse if it doesn't (because T&C state that you don't).
IMO and generally in this forum, it's not worth booking outside of direct/FHR/THC/Prive unless you're getting a
significant benefit. Personally for me, it'd need to be at least a 20% discount because the points and night credits and status benefits are of significant value.
