I agree that TLG bookings always earn benefits and appear in your ALL bookings page. I moved away from my Amex Platinum card a few years ago, so I can't offer any recent experience. But, I used to book through Amex once per year, for the same reason as you, just to use up the annual $200 credit. I always received benefits, but as I said, that was at least 3 years ago, so things might have changed. To be safe, maybe use the credit with another chain.
