And you also need to consider the lower mileage-redemption rates and fees when redeeming AA miles on certain routes, compared to what BA charges. (There are other routes -- like JFK-MAD on IB -- where Avios offer the better redemption deal.)
80,000 AA miles and $5.60 is hard to beat with any other form of redemption for an F ticket. Actually impossible to beat especially as BA is $360 Canadian and “more effective Avion points” to get the Avios miles
