What an abysmal dump of a hotel, I have absolutely no idea how this turd has managed to remain or even become a Radisson property.
I asked for 2 rooms close together when I booked, I called to confirm after making the booking, the first issues was receiving 2 rooms on separate floors, rooms 4 & 22. The bathroom in room 4 stand of sewage. We arrived late, reception said he would make a note and it would be sorted out the next morning, no note was left, the manager didn’t know about the issue when I spoke to him the next morning.
For the second night we were given rooms on the same floor, 22 & 25, they neglected to set up the third bed in the new room. This bed was not delivered to room 25, we had to ask for it, they could not find a bed, we were offered a 4th room this time in the basement, I refused, the bed was eventually located an delivered around 22.00, about 3 hours after we asked for it.
None of the 3 rooms we received were clean, the bathrooms were filthy, poo stains in the toilets, dust bunnies behind the toilets and nowhere to hang used towels.
Room 22 was not cleaned the second day, the beds were not made, the bathroom wasn’t cleaned and the towels were not refreshed.
There was a bucket full of dirty water left on the landing between floors 1 & 2, this made the stairwell smell. My wife mentioned it to reception a couple of times, they did nothing, the door to the cleaning closet on the landing was open so she put it in there, 24 hours after first bringing it to receptions attention.
The fridges in rooms 22 & 25 did not work. There was a stand-alone a/c unit in 22, this made a lot of noise and not a lot of cold air. There was no a/c in room 25. The ventilation fan in room 25’s bathroom did not work. The windows only open about 10 cm, without ventilation they were very hot.
It looked like rooms have never given a deep clean, the light fittings were dusty, there was dust in all the places lazy cleaners don’t clean, but people like my wife notices.
Don’t get me started with the breakfast, it was a la carte, the food tasted ok but the servings are child sized. A full English was one small sausage, one rash of bacon, a couple
of mushrooms, a spoon of baked beans, 2 eggs and a piece of toast. The breakfast staff were disinterested and slow. It was not a busy breakfast room so they had no reason to be tardy.
I booked the hotel based off the location and the photos on the Radisson Rewards site, the photos do not represent the rooms we received. I have been staying in Radisson hotels since 2007 and never had any problems like we have had with this hotel.
I booked 5 nights, I tried to get a refund for the last three days but they refused. I had paid cash and 252,000 points, they offered 100,000 points compensation and refused to acknowledge Radissons 100% satisfaction guarantee. To keep the miss KiwiRob and the 3 mini KiwiRobs happy we left. We moved to the Hampton by Marriott Bath, here the rooms were clean and tidy, the bathrooms spotless, happy wife, happy kids, happy Rob.
I don’t usually read reviews, this is a mistake I won’t make again with a property I haven’t stayed in. I’ve never come across a Radisson with as many negative reviews on Google and Tripadvisor as this one.
