I quite enjoyed my time at the Renaissance Arc de Triomphe - is it the most Parisian? No, but that might not be a bad thing. Here are my pros, cons, and photos:
Pros:
- Upgraded the night before to a Junior Suite - yes, it's just a bigger room with zero separation, but an upgrade in Paris is an upgrade
- The leather couch is very comfortable
- Very nice view, especially at sunset
- Left some chocolate covered marshmallows on my bedside when I returned
- The bed is good - firm / medium mattress, but not springy, decently plush pillows, covers are thin until you add the intended fur blanket, which was soft, clean, and cozy
- Shower pressure was strong - really enjoyed this shower
- Service was friendly
- Asked proactively about late checkout - no issue with the 3 PM I requested
- Elite breakfast was very tasty - great chocolate tarts, croissants, crispy bacon, eggs, lovely lattes - they did seem to make omelets if you asked, but I was content with the scrambled eggs
- Towels were large and fluffy
- Lots of storage space
Neutral:
- Welcome gift was rhubarb soda (not my type of taste) and some savory crackers - the savory crackers were quite good
Cons:
- The two elevators are on separate controllers - one modernized and one not - the un-modernized elevator shakes in a crazy way - wait due to separate call buttons
Overall, I would have no problem returning here.
