On my last stay earlier this year, I was not given a choice of ordering from the menu. Even then, in the past, the menu wasn't all that different from the buffet. They do use the potatoes that are from the buffet. All in all, I don't think the breakfast at the HR Vancouver is all that special. I do think it's better than the GH SFO though!
FWIW when I was there a year ago it was not mentioned or offered proactively, I had to ask about it. (I've visited again since then, but on my more recent stay the timing of the day's activities meant I skipped breakfast, so no further data points...)
