Note that JL premium-cabin award space from TYO to the U.S. appears to be harder to find than premium-cabin award space from the U.S. to TYO.
Dumb question but I didn't see an answer in that article and Google is pointing me towards this answer.
But I assume you have to call to book that multi-carrier redemption scenario you presented as BA will not let one book a multi-city award trip?
