I've stayed at other Southern Sun properties and it is my impression they are a bit nicer than the City Lodges. The only down side is I believe you need tp use their shuttle between the hotel and the terminals.
It is a nice property - definitely a step above the City Lodge in quality, but not quite in convenience because of the roundabout route to get there.
I've never been a fan of the IC, other than the arrivals lounge they used to have. Back when I used to do a weekly day trip to Joburg, I would land and go there for a shower and breakfast before heading out for my activities. That's been closed for probably close to 15 years now though. The rooms at the IC are ridiculously overpriced given the other excellent deals available in the area.
