Are you talking about using a CC to tap or your phone with the CC setup under transit cards? Cause I used both my phone this summer in London and Suica/Phone in Japan and saw no difference in the time it took.
Using my credit card in London. I literally have to slow down, and often stand still to get through. In Japan it is full walking speed through the gates.
