Error Message Linking Amex MR to Emirates Skyward

I have had this issue for over a week now. I am trying to link my American Express Membership Rewards account to my Emirates Skyward account to transfer Amex points to Emirates. My Amex MR account was linked to my wife's Emirates account years ago and delinked over 48 hours ago.

I receive the following error message on Amex MR when trying to link the accounts:

It looks like something went wrong.

Please double check the following:
  • Your name on both accounts matches exactly
  • You have entered the correct partner loyalty account number
  • If you are linking to a partner account in the name of an Additional Card Member, the Additional Card must have been issued at least 90 days prior to linking

My name matches exactly on both accounts First Middle Initial and Last. I had a 3 way call with Amex and Emirates to confirm name matches exactly.

Emirates says they can't do anything. Amex says they can't do anything. Any advice or help? How to get this escalated?

Update: There's this line the Emirates terms and conditions:
  • Only one Emirates Skywards membership account number can be assigned for the transfer of Membership RewardsŪ points. Any subsequent change to the nominated Emirates Skywards membership account number is not allowed.
I think that might be the problem. Since my wife's EK account was linked to my MR account as an authorized user, then I may never be able to connect my MR account to EK. Frustrating.
