Compensation

I have just arrived home. Unfortunately I was supposed to arrive in SXM. Can anyone tell me if I am entitled to compensation.
This is still ongoing but hopefully I fly tomorrow and will be reunited with my luggage.

I was to fly PHL-SXM at 8:30 this morning. The flight was delayed to 12:30 and then to 3PM. At 1PM it was delayed until 8:30AM tomorrow

Because I originated in Philly I was not entitled (nor did I want a hotel room or food voucher) and was sent home with an apology and a "see you tomorrow"
I took a taxi to the airport which cost $40 and Uber back $32. No receipt for the taxi. Will American reimburse for the car fare? Also will they reimburse for the lost day in SXM(including room not used)?
I know they sometimes give miles, do they ever give loyalty points as an apology?
Finally, what is the best way to file the complaint
