The ticket should be reissued within 7 days of you passing your cc details, if it hasn't happened (and you haven't had an email to say the card was denied, the CVV is missing at our end, etc) then something has unfortunately gone wrong as there's no significant backlogs/delays. You def should not be waiting till a few days before travel though as has been said we do prioritise urgent travel. If the OP hasnt had the new ticket receipt within 7days of last contact with BA please PM me your PNR and i will take a look.
This is exactly my reading and experience of the situation. We all know that the CVV number drops out quite quickly if the card isn't charged. Waiting until 48-72 hours before travel to chase is utter brinkmanship. Also, you need ticket numbers in the booking in order to be able to book your seat numbers in advance on Ba.com
