Coming from the country hardest hit (outside of the disaster area) and seeing how many of my old fellow countrymen are dead or missing, I have donated my fair share to the Red Cross. Not miles, but money, which ought to give quicker relief for the people in need for it.
Now, if the US had taken 10% of the TSA budget and donated that, we a) wouldn't have noticed much change in the efficiency of TSA and b) US would have been regarded much higher in the world than what it is today.
