I assume that StudioRes means Studio Residence.
That would make sense. It's smaller than a suite, but has a small kitchen.
StudioRes isn't a traditional hotel. StudioRes isn't competing with Courtyard by Marriott or Aloft. It's not even competing with Residence Inn. StudioRes is for someone who needs a temporary residence for a month or two, whether as temporary housing when moving to a different city, or for a temporary work assignment (but not for high-paying position), or as housing while someone's home is temporarily uninhabitable -- and is not in a position to spend $200 per night ($6,000 per month) at a traditional hotel or higher-end extended stay hotel.
