Hello,

Welcome to India !

At Mumbai BOM airport, KLM will park at gate 71. (Sometimes gate 72, and in rarer occasions, gate 76 or others.) (Gate V15 for pilots diagram.)

When you leave the jet bridge, turn right (if 71), if you already have your boarding pass follow "all passengers" signs followed by "transfer to international" signs, walk through the terminal and to the connecting security check and proceed to the boarding gate of the connecting flight if international. If you don't have a boarding pass and your next airline does not have an agent on the international arrival side desk or If domestic, walk towards immigration. Waiting time around midnight can be around 30 minutes to 1h30.

Standard SOP for BOM gate ramp staff is L1 and L2 for departure (For 787, 777 and A333/2), with L2 door usually linked first on arrival (unless modified/impossible for x reasons). But it really depends on the bridge operator that night and what he decides to do. I've seen it both (either L2 first, or L1. But most of the time it will be L2).

If in Y, sit in the front. If in J, sit wherever. The J cabin is so small on the A333, even more on A332. It won't make much of a difference. Even if you end up behind a slow turtle on the bridge, you'll have plenty of space to outrun anyone and walk fast once inside the bigger part of the bridge or the gigantic and roomy terminal.

Sit back, relax, enjoy your flight with KLM, and your short time at BOM. It's not your seat in the plane that will make much of a difference at BOM; Queues at security or immigration would be more likely to extend your transfer.
