UA can barely compete on product across the Atlantic, let alone in the Pacific. It can't even compete on product domestically against Delta or jetBlue, at least until the new planes with the new interiors come online.

The only reason I ever step foot on a UA plane is because UA happens to be the *A member here. I suspect UA knows that to an extent.
