Hello. Looking at booking a few internal flights in US on American Airlines with BA Avios over the next month. For the routes and dates I'm looking at there is good availability, particularly in Economy, but showing as "Hand baggage only fare. No checked baggage allowance." I haven't done this before so this might be a novice question so apologies but I haven't been able to find an answer so far. I'm assuming that I can still check in a bag by paying the appropriate fee. Is that a correct assumption? My BAEC Status is currently Bronze and I did find on the AA website that 1st checked bag is complimentary for Oneworld Ruby.

Any confirmation or insights much appreciated.
