Along that line, it has been reported that Kobe airport is hoping to provide international service by 2030. Not so happy about that, from a purely selfish viewpoint, because it's as easy to catch a flight there as it is to catch a train. Compact, user friendly, so quick. Haven't heard any international rumors regarding Itami.
