LAX-SFO/SJC are both less than 350 miles. Purchased Premium Class, therefore, does not qualify for a Premium Drink. In fact, Elite passengers in Premium Class, or any other seat in Main for that matter, aren't eligible either since no alcohol is served in Main on a <350 mile flight.

If the FA is providing you a Premium beverage in Main, you are getting "special" Elite treatment outside policy. Consider yourself lucky and be appreciative, but don't expect a "benefit" that isn't applicable to your flight. The same goes for the chocolate bar in lieu of the Premium drink.

From Elite Benefits

¹⁶Complimentary premium beverage or chocolate is available on most flights over 350 miles.
