I booked an award flight from Male to Seattle with Qatar Airways, with a layover in Doha for 85,000 Avios. The issue is that they changed the flight from Male to Doha to much later time, effectively cutting in half the time of my layover, and therefore I cannot spend as much time in the Al Safwa First Lounge with my potential purchased access. My plan is to cancel my whole flight (the only option is the cancel overall Male to Seattle, and cannot cancel only the Male to Doha portion) and rebook the Male to Doha portion in first class.
Here is my question...what are the chances of the Doha to Seattle saver award seat showing up again so I can book it (70,000 Avios)? Does anyone have any experience with this? Is it worth the risk?
I am not sure about British Airways, but there has been basically zero inventory from anything for mileage awards in business class to the US on American Airlines (operated by Qatar Airlines), starting several weeks ago. It is my understanding that these awards somewhat track availability on BA, and BA is also not showing availability. I just checked, and there is not a single business/first award ticket on AA (operated by QR) from MLE-DOH-SEA between now and the end of American's 331 day booking window. (Checking on BA takes longer

)
IMHO, I would not mess with that ticket.
