I take both fairly frequently, I actually don’t mind the narrow body and like the mint suites, the No lounge doesn’t bother me on the flight over as much as it does for the return flight, but jet blue isn’t great when there are issues they just don’t have as many options and with smaller planes there just isn’t as much capacity on other flights if your flight is cancelled
The ba suites are a vast improvement over the old seating, I would say I fly first about half the time and almost like the CW suites better than the first seating where the two rows can force you to be near the galley. I have had extraordinary luck dodging cancellations and never have luggage
my decision is usually based on flight time and equipment, because I see all the other elements as a bit of a toss up, the jet blue equipment is always the same BA switches depending on the season
as to your point about nicer people I will say that jet blue can have a slightly more rowdy crowd, my BA flights tend to have mostly Brit’s trying to get back on their own time zone so early to bed early to rise, jet blue is the opposite people have dinner but sleep thru breakfast
I am all about sleep especially given the short duration on the flight over so pay zero attention to food and service on either
