The tragic events of the Tsunami, like the tragic events of Sept 11 require a proper societal response.
The analysis on this thread is on how much money has been spent on the response (and what that money has been spent on) and the effect that money has on mitigating future similar events. Balance that equation with the liklihood of the particular disaster event happening again. When you frame the conversation this way, it is valid.
Although it shouldn't take the angle of T-S-A bashing (from a policy perspective) but perhaps some deep-down questioning on T-S-A's very need to exist.
