As they crawled out of the pandemic things were really looking up
My perception is for today sadly about the same as in the past Hopefully I'm proven wrong by others here.
However as one poster shared above they had their breakfast completely taken off the bill that was encouraging to me.
As it was my last experience too though I was by myself and had room service.I was very pleased
however at the time the massive devaluation hadn't set in.The increase made me give up on the hotel and move on.

That said now that its been years and something I never shared publicly here to my memory or whats left of it
At the height of the upgrade concern with selling Globalists suite upgrades and strict dollar amounts for breakfast
I reached out on behalf of the Hyatt FT & WOH community to Hyatt's CEO ( a first for me)
He never communicated with me directly however his office turned it all over to Peter Roth
in charge of Hyatt's Luxury division in New York
He couldn't have been nicer to me and more understanding. However I did feel the pressure
behind him from Hyatt and or Ownership ect continued to drive the Globalist recognition overall.

Think I speak for many with that revolving primarily around suite upgrades and breakfast
Its really a beautiful property based on anything Hyatt has done historically in NYC
I had a conference call and some emails with he and Alpan Keskin GM of Park Hyatt NYC
over some months @ the time discussing our threads here on FT
and brought up some of their competitors elite benefit recognition by comparison.
They were listening to their credit.

So with all due respect early on I suspect the new management follows in the footsteps
of their predecessors with little to no change.
In speaking for myself while the Park Hyatt New York was great to me towards the end of the
former management teams run I haven't been keen on returning
to PH NYC or PH Sydney as I had for years and moved to other programs where
I felt far better value and bang for the buck exist in the luxury arena.
In the right situation I would return to either property and of course for those in the Hyatt eco system
it of course will still make sense as they
seek to redeem points or reclaim status just with whatever the property continues to offer..............
YMMV!
Thanks for that perspective. For what it's worth, they've always been pretty generous to me in regards to wiping the breakfast charge for our family, regardless of what we ordered, dating back before COVID. It was the suite upgrades -- either to the faux junior suite, or not at all -- that was always a sticking point. Especially because I consider the 1 bedroom city view suite at the PHNY to be one of the single best points redemptions in the Hyatt universe.
