There are others on here that do it far more, and several who ALSO require Schengen visas, are from countries like yours, and we all pretty much know what we are talking about.

Since at least 2005 with very few exceptions, no EU country will give you a Schengen Visa if you show proof of a stay in ANOTHER EU country for your first visit on that visa, once you complete that first entry you can travel wherever you want, and this applies to the lifetime of your visa. No one at Swedish passport and customs control actually said what you said that they said, especially because you were on what, a 90 day short term visa? Perhaps if you were on a 2 year or five year visa, perhaps. Now as I stated you may have gotten away with it at a FRA or a MUC which are major connecting hubs, at MUC this would be quite easy, but Hanover is a podunk non connecting airport. Now I am sure that YOU questioned various Swedish officials looking for validation to go after TK, and I am sure that they either told you what you wanted to hear, or you heard what you wanted to hear. Otherwise which one was it that was so outraged, Sven?Lassi, Roni?

No EU country will give you a visa if you show proof of stay in another EU country for your first visit on that visa? Yes, they would! Sorry, I either didn't quite understand that line or my experience is very different. Just for clarity, let's take examples: If I am travelling to Swiss and then to Austria. If my number of days of stay in Swiss was equal to the number of days in Austria, then I would issue the Swiss visa, because that is my first port of entry. However, if my stay in Swiss is for 3 days, and in Austria for 2 weeks, then I would issue the Austrian visa. So, I would issue the visa of the country of maximum days of stay.

That's exactly why I issued the Swedish visa in the first place. In my application, I had attached proof of my stay at a hotel in Hannover, and my itinerary around Hannover - to Hamelin, Goslar, and a few other places. Or else, the Swedish Embassy would've asked me to issue a German visa if I were staying there the longest. Anyway, lesson learnt, henceforth I will arrange my itinerary in a better way - according to the first port of entry, I mean. Mistakes happen everywhere, I suppose, even with relatively frequent flyers.

Unfortunately, I can't attach photos here, as FlyerTalk isn't allowing me to post any images unless I do a minimum of 5-ish posts. Else, I would've posted all my proofs here.
