True, but unfortunately in 2023, I don't think it wise to plan any travel with tight connections--as I found on this trip when a delay out of JFK cost me the connection to Inverness with the flight I eventually took coming 36 hours later and a 30-minute delay of the morning Inverness flight back that again cost me the connecting flight to JFK with another 36-hour delay before my departure. In other words, on a 16-day trip where I expected to spend a total of less than three hours at Heathrow, I instead spent four days.

In that context, inspection of my scissors, which did not ultimately contribute to the flight delays that caused missed connections, seemed like a small thing. That may not be the case for many others.
