It really depends on the route, day of week, and time of day. If this is a more business-oriented route you may find you get late bookings by people who are eligible for complimentary E+ seating and stuff gets taken up. There's a chance of an operational issue and another flight gets cancelled and a lot of people get consolidated on to your flight and take up the E+ seats. E+ pricing is variable (though within a range), so others could buy up as well. I don't want to be negative on your chances, but if you're really counting on E+ the only sure way to get a seat (or 3) is to select it while the ones you want are available.
If you're willing to chance it, perhaps you could study the seat map for the same flight on the app at check in time to see what similar flights look like at t-24.
